VOYAGER
An International Cultural Ecosystem.

VOYAGER is an international platform, founded by designer and philosopher Iskandar Kadyrov. The project reimagines ritual traditions through contemporary art, architecture, and philosophy, creating a space for dialogue between life, death, and memory.

The VOYAGER ecosystem unites four dimensions:

OBJECT

Authorial ritual artifacts, designer urns, and memorial objects. In them, the rigor of form becomes a vessel for memory, and utility gives way to pure aesthetics.

SPACE

Exhibition spaces and the VOYAGER UNIVERSE — places where the art of memory takes physical form. Neither museums, nor galleries, nor stores, but spaces of encounter with eternity.

MEDIA

The VOYAGER Journal and the "Architecture of Memory" project. Essays, interviews, and explorations of death, ritual, and the beauty of passing, opening taboo subjects to cultural dialogue.

COLLABORATIONS

Collaborations with artists, designers, and cultural institutions. Expanding the boundaries of ritual art, introducing it into the context of contemporary culture.

At the heart of everything we do is the idea that memory of a person can become a work of art. VOYAGER creates not just objects, but bridges between the departed and the living, transforming farewell into an act of high aesthetics and personal philosophy.

The project supports cultural and environmental initiatives, partnering with Dolphin Hub, One Heritage™, and others who share the values of conscious remembrance and heritage.

THE VOYAGER STORY

By 2015, the VOYAGER project had been developing for three years as an original study at the intersection of design and philosophy. The Necropolis-Tanexpoexhibition became the site of its first physical presentation — it was here that the project was introduced to the general public for the very first time.

On March 19, 2015, the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper published an article titled "Funerals in Russia Are Turning into a Special Art Form. All Death Is a Theatre." This publication became the first official news story about VOYAGER and sparked a wave of media attention that instantly swept across Russian and international media. Prime-time reports on leading federal and metropolitan TV channels, along with publications in the global press, reignited public discussion about the culture of farewell.

From being a sensational exhibit that amazed the world with designer coffins shaped like Formula 1 race cars, VOYAGER began its journey toward becoming what it is today — an international cultural ecosystem where memory transforms into art.

The debut reaction — Nekropol Exhibition, Moscow, 2015
  • «The VOYAGER concept coffin, created by a Russian designer, is set to rescue the long-stagnant Russian funeral market with its uniform offerings. The coffin can wait!»
  • «The Voyager Coffin may shock or amuse at first, but on closer inspection it turns out to be a serious endeavour with an important mission — perhaps the most important in the world.»
    ― Yulia Dudkina
    «Batenka, you're a transformer»
  • «Funeral fashion never stands still! If a person lived beautifully, drove a Ferrari, sailed on a luxury yacht — why should their final journey be in a boring wooden box? The latest trend in funeral fashion. Stylish funerals for wealthy gentlemen.»
«With a coffin like that, I want to die soon!»
  • «Russian designers, commissioned by British funeral professionals, have developed an entire funeral concept. Death is viewed as a journey into infinity, and the coffin as a vehicle — resembling a space capsule.»
«Funerals in Russia are becoming a special kind of art.»
  • «At the Nekropol funeral industry exhibition in Moscow, the hit of the show was a coffin in the shape of a racing car — finished in red, in the form of a Formula 1 bolide.»
«A speed coffin. A sport coffin, so to speak.»
